Lombardi Welcomes
Mark Goetz has joined Lombardi in September 2008 to become the webmaster. He comes from Cecil County Public Schools which is located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore where Mark served as the school district’s web application technician. Born and raised in the Washington DC area and a graduate of Frostburg State University, Mark is happy to be here at Georgetown as the Cancer Center’s newly created webmaster position. Mark is looking forward to working members of the Lombardi community. He says “I really enjoy the collegiate and cooperative environment while working in the educational field”.
Carol Herod joined Lombardi in April 2008 as a Proposal Officer for the Office of Grant Services. Carol has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and an associate’s degree in accounting from Prince George’s Community College. Originally from Guyana, she moved to the United States in 1983 and worked as a financial analysis for United Jersey Bank. Carol was recruited to Lombard from the University where she worked as a payroll analyst from 2004 through 2008. From 1992 through 2003, Carol worked in the accounts payable department of the Georgetown University Hospital. At Lombardi, Carol’s responsibilities include providing assistance to faculty and staff with the submission of grant applications and with the administration of research, education, and training programs.
