Medicare PET/CT Trial Open at Georgetown PET Center

The PET/CT Center at Georgetown University Hospital is participating in the National Oncologic PET Registry (NOPR), a nation-wide clinical trial sponsored by the Academy of Molecular Imaging and Managed by the American College of Radiology. The study is the first program designed to assess the effect of PET on referring physicians' plans of intended patient management for cancers and indications not currently eligible for reimbursement from Medicare.  Read more...

Newly Funded Grants

Christopher Wilcox, MD, received a $1.7 million P01 grant from the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute.

Kathryn Taylor, PhD, received a grant for $400,000 to study quality of life of long-term prostate cancer survivors from the American Cancer Society.

Jeanne Mandelblatt, MHP, PhD, received a new $3 million R01 from the NCI to study physiological age as a predictor of chemotherapy toxicity. She also received as second grant from the NIH for $790,000 to study cancer control at the intersection of aging research.
